Tiyaphan Praphanvitaya shows a photograph in which
she accepts, from the Royal Princess, Thailand's first prize in
the lullaby competition that is conducted annually on Mother's
Day.
Tiyaphan, who teaches at the Nakhon
Ratchasima Arts College and hosts a local radio show, wrote the
music that opened the Thao Suranari festival. She also choreographed
a dance number and designed costumes inspired by ancient Khmer
carvings.
Ladavan Vannaburana
is descended from Thao
Suranari's sister, although five generations separate them.
